FCC ID Label and E-Label Rules

Certified devices must show the FCC ID on a permanently affixed label readable without tools, or, for devices with an integral display, electronically under 47 CFR 2.935 (e-labeling). Devices authorized by Supplier's Declaration of Conformity include compliance information with the product (47 CFR 2.1077) instead of an FCC ID.

FCC ID labels (47 CFR 2.925)

  • Show "FCC ID:" followed by the grantee code and product code
  • Very small devices: 47 CFR 2.925 sets the alternatives; check the rule text for your device

E-labels (47 CFR 2.935)

  • Allowed for devices with an integrated display
  • Users must reach it in a few steps without special tools

SDoC (47 CFR 2.1077)

  • Product identification, compliance statement and the U.S. responsible party's contact details
